Remembering Dale Kennedy

This blog is for words of sympathy for the family and friends of Dale and Barb Kennedy. Dale died in a tragic motorcycle accident yesterday, June 26, 2008.

There is always an outpouring of concern at a time like this. As phones are tied up and family becomes overwhelmed by the loving offers of support, sympathy, and help, this is a place to make sure all of your love and care is remembered. If you have special memories of Dale to share with the family, please do so.

Your loving words mean so much to Barb and to the whole family, and we don't want to lose any of them in the blurry days ahead. From all of us.... thank you.

I have lots of fond memories of the 70's as Dale was my very best friend. We rode dirt bikes, road bikes & snowmobiles together. Our longest trip was to Portland Ore.and back.I have lots of priceless memmories of that trip.Dale ask me to stop over to their house on Grant during visitation for Joes funeral.I regret I just didn't take the time to do that. Even though our daily lives have grown in different directions over the past years it seems like yesterday we were kids playing together on almost a daily basis in Hesperia. It is so hard to loose family that has been so close, especially in your childhood years, first Joe and now Dale, it is so hard to accept. The memories of growing up with Dale and Joe run so deep,we will miss Dale so very much. Our prayers and thought are with Barb, Jason, Chad, Sandy, Aunt June & Uncle Neil.

Dale Kennedy was a wonderful man, and I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity
to know him and work with him for so many years. He was a terrific problem-solver. Whenever there was a mechanical issue that we needed to work through, Dale could come up with a solution. He could take the lead and yet act as a partner and a coach. Oftentimes solutions were simple to Dale. He was experienced, creative and eager to learn new things. Sometimes we’d get out a physics book or the machinist's handbook to look up formulas, and I fondly remember Dale referring to this as “cyferring”. His work ethic was exemplary, and he made an immeasurable contribution to a small, growing company. He was incredibly honest and I trusted him completely. He was a mentor to many. He was humble and considerate.

Dale was interested in anything and everything that might make him a better marksman, bow hunter or target shooter. He has shared his experience with so many and our lives have been touched by his enthusiasm. I have never met Dale’s boys, but he beamed whenever he talked about them, and he was very proud of what terrific young men his sons have become. I loved to share stories with him about my own children as they are growing up, and he was always a good listener. I will deeply miss my friend and colleague.

Neil & June,
We were sorry to hear about Dale's
passing and offer our condolences. We live in Florida now and our twin 15 year old daughters started summer courses at Polk Community College, Monday; so we can not come to his funeral. Our prayers are with you.
